New Life Church is a member of the American Baptist Evangelicals and is associated with the American Baptist Churches of Vermont and New Hampshire. New Life Church (NLC) is a new church plant started in April 2000 by Pastors Shirley and Dave Marcroft and the American Baptist Churches of Vermont and New Hampshire. During the first year, services were held in the Marcroft's home. A Steering Committee was established to guide the formation of the church. Members of that committee came from area churches, a church in MA, and from the American Baptist Churches of VT and NH. In April of 2001, the first public worship service was held on a Saturday evening at the Ashland Baptist Church. Then NLC renovated the former Blue Seal Feeds building in downtown Plymouth and met there for a year. The time of the worship service was changed to Sunday mornings after the September 11th tragedy. Understanding the importance of money being spent mainly on outreach and helping people, NLC moved to Campton, NH where they rented Campton Baptist Church's auditorium/dining hall. Worship services were held there for 2 years. The seating arrangements transitioned from coffee house style to rows of comfortable chairs. In June 2004, New Life Church moved to the Campton Corners Shopping Plaza. On January 14, 2006 the church moved to our present location at 349 Owl St in Campton. We developed three large community ministries: New Life Thrift Shop, a food pantry, and a community youth program / ministry for the area. On March 5, 2008 the building the church rented at Owl St. collapsed from the heavy snow weight on the roof. After waiting almost two months for the snow to melt off the roof, the building was declared "safe". 3/4 of the building collapsed. God protected the portion of the building that was rented by New Life. Most of the roof remained intact over the church, thrift shop, and food pantry. In late April, we were finally able to enter the building, see the destruction, and reclaim those items which were left undamaged by the looters and the weather. Currently, we are holding worship services at people's homes. The worship service is blended between contemporary and traditional in style and relevant in the Bible based messages. |
